Finding Shelter for Our Homeless Neighbors

We work with agencies like One80Place to find shelter for neighbors who are homeless. Also, plans are underway to renovate the Neighbors Together campus to provide transitional housing for women and children.

If you are in need of shelter, please call the housing crisis line at (843) 737-8357 or visit 2105 Cosgrove Ave., North Charleston, SC 29405.

Families chosen for the residential portion of our Families in Transition program receive needed training and counseling in key life skills, including relationship building, conflict management, parenting, budgeting, vocational and more. This training is provided by our licensed social worker and other agencies, empowering these neighbors to make positive choices that enable them to get their lives back on track.

We provide limited financial assistance to help pay rent, utilities, transportation and other basic needs for neighbors experiencing temporary financial setbacks.

We offer rent and utility assistance by appointment only. Applications are reviewed Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 10-1, please call 843-747-1788 for available appointments.

A mother experiences serious medical bills and can’t pay her light or water bill. An individual has been laid off and is about to be evicted. A family needs transportation to get to another community where the father has a new job waiting. Sometimes folks just hit a financial bump in the road and need a temporary helping hand to get around it and keep going.

That’s the simple idea behind Neighbors Together’s Rent and Utility Assistance Program, which provides limited emergency assistance thanks to our donors.

We offer rental and utility assistance on a case-by-case basis, by appointment only.  Please call (843) 747.1788.
