Neighbors Together Has a New Program Director!
Meet Suzanne Young! As our new Program Director, Suzanne will be responsible for overseeing and developing assistance programs offered by Neighbors Together including Emergency Needs, Health and Wellness, Job Training and Homelessness Prevention. Suzanne comes to Neighbors Together with a broad background in human services and we look forward to all that she has to bring to our neighbors.
Suzanne’s Biography: I grew up in Simpsonville and now live in Greenville but I have always loved the coast. As a single mom, I raised my daughter Victoria who is now 29 years old. My degree is in Secondary Education/English as I thought I wanted to be a high school English teacher but life had other plans. I have spent my entire professional career (20+ years) working in the nonprofit sector which is where I belong. My true passion is working in a small nonprofit with a big heart while working on behalf of those often marginalized by society especially the homeless. I have been able to work in all different capacities so I have an understanding of the challenges and blessings each offers such as an intake specialist, case manager, program manager, grant writer/manager, outreach coordinator, volunteer coordinator, and event coordinator. On a personal note, here are some of my favorite things: I love to read and murder mysteries are my favorite genre, I love to travel and road trips are bliss to me, and I am an animal person–I have 2 cats (Butterscotch and Milo) and baking is my therapy.
