Back To School Event
Neighbors Together sent our kids back to school in style! The organization’s drive-through Back to School event on Saturday, August 14th was a huge success. “Today was incredible, to see so many neighbors coming together to help one another,” said Neighbors Together Executive Director Rev. Kara Stewart. “We heard so many people’s stories of how they’re struggling and what it meant to come here and get some encouragement and receive some supplies.”
Children and their families were greeted with food, fun (including ice cream) and the opportunity to receive a COVID-19 vaccine (thank you DHEC)! All of this was made possible thanks to donations to Neighbors Together and volunteers.
EVENT BY THE NUMBERS:
243 Children Received School Supplies (Pencil box, crayons, glue, erasers, index cards, scissors)
104 Families Served
18 COVID Vaccines Distributed
